Our guild decided as a group to extend the "Film Noir" block Challenge. These blocks will be made into a quilt for the red cross. As of the October meeting, I believe, we have over 17 blocks! Let's see if we can collect more than we received for the citrus challenge (20!). For this challenge we are doing: shades of gray, black, and white with small pops of color. For every 12 1/2 inch unfinished block your name is entered to win a gift certificate to one of the local quilt shops!! Carrie has two of these gift certificates to award. So let's get sewing!
For the November meeting we will be laying out the challenge blocks and sharing our projects. We will NOT be meeting in December, so join us for this last chance to show and tell for 2012! We will meet up again for a new challenge and more Bee blocks in January of 2013. We can't wait to see all the beautiful projects you have to share. As always, new members are more than welcome to join us! Modern means different things to different people. Sometimes, it is just the use of newer fabrics and patterns. You may be a modern quilter and not know it.
Join us for our November Meeting on Monday, Nov 26th at 6:30pm. We will be meeting at Seams Like Home in the nook by the batik fabrics. Bring your finished 'Film Noir' blocks and items for show & tell.
